The Board of Directors election nomination process for 2018 has concluded. The Election Committee, consisting of CoHEsion members, has reviewed the submitted nominations and recommended a slate of candidates for approval to the CoHEsion Board of Directors. The Board has received and approved the slate for 2018. The approved candidates will be voted on (as an entire slate) at each of the Fall 2018 conferences.
Ali Penton has been employed at the University of West Florida since January of 1994. He has over 30 years experience in data processing and over 15 years of experience with the Banner ERP system.
He was the primary technical support when UWF implemented the Banner HR/Payroll system in 2004. He worked directly with the SCT consultant from setting up the rules and validation tables to converting the legacy data into Banner.
Currently he is working as the Lead Banner Support Specialist at UWF, providing support and consulting to HR, Payroll, Budget and the Academic Affairs offices; and serving as a liaison between these offices and the Information Technology Services.
Ali has presented at SunGard Summit and SETA/CoHEsion Conferences since 2008 and has served as the HR Track Chair for both SETA/CoHEsion and SunGard/Ellucian Summit Conferences. More recently, Ali served on the Board of Directors for CoHEsion serving as the vendor liaison – 2013-2014, and he is currently serving a three year term as Director-at-large on the CoHEsion Board of Directors, term ending December 31, 2018.
He has also served on the SunGard/Ellucian HR Customer Advisory Board for 2 years (2010 and 2011). He is well know by other Banner users in the HR Community and was selected as the most contributing Commons participant for the last 2 years. He completed another 2 year term on Banner HR Customer Advisory Board ending on December 31, 2017.
Ali served on the Development Partner Group with Ellucian to develop the next phase of Banner Employee Self Service with Employee Profile Released in December 2014 University of West Florida is also one of the early adopters for the Employee Profile. He also served on the Development Partner Group for Banner HR web time entry that was released in June 2018.

Asst. Director University Process Improvement – Colette has served as the project Manager for the University of Memphis Process Improvement initiatives for the past 8 years. She has an extensive IT background and has held several leadership positions during her tenure with the university. With her leadership and strong organizational skills, she has facilitated and successfully led over 71 process improvement initiatives for the University of Memphis and worked with more than 350 staff and faculty members across campus to streamline and improve processes. Colette has presented at State and National conferences, including TN Summit, CoHEsion, SETA, Ellucian Summit and NCCI (Network for Change and Continuous Innovations).
Colette has significant board and conference experience serving as track chair, program chair and on the Board of Directors. As a CoHEsion/SETA board member she has served in several roles, including President, Secretary and Director at Large. Since 2013 Colette has served as the conference chair/or vice-conference chair for the 2013 Nashville (chair), 2014 Austin (chair), 2015 Charleston (vice-chair), 2016 Louisville (vice-chair), 2017 Baltimore (chair) and currently conference chair for 2018 Savannah. She provides leadership for her program committees and oversight in all areas including hotel contract negotiations, managing hotel arrangements, budget management, and event planning. In addition, she has served in the roles of Vice-Program Chair, Program Chair and Conference Chair for the NCCI organization.
Colette has a real passion for the CoHEsion organization, its future growth, and being of service to the membership.
